Current activities of Rotaract Club Brno

Our planned Rotaract activities in the next few months are as follows:

5th Badminton Tournament (2008)

As every year also in the year 2008 we are going to hold a badminton tournament. This year the tournatment will take place on 8th March from 12:30 in sport hall Sprint on Sportovní street in Brno.
Not only memebers of Rotary clubs and Rotaract clubs are invited, but also other badminton–lovers who want to contribute to our charitable projects.
After the tournament we are going to spend an evening having a dinner in restaurant (from 20:30), during which the winner of the tournament will be declared. Afterwards the fun will continue in disco.

2nd "Eyes of Music" Concert (2006)

While the first Eyes of Music concert was very successful, we decided to organise, together with TyfloCentre Brno, second concert, which will take place in Křišťálový sál of the Old Townhall in Brno on 24th May 2006 from 19:00.

3rd Badminton Tournament

Annually in March we hold a badminton tournament in Brno. This year the tournament was be held on 8th April 2006. Not only members of Rotaract Clubs Brno participated, but also our friends from Rotaract Club Blue Danube (Austria) as well as Mr. Tibor Szabó (Rotary Brno City) and Mr. František Ryneš (Rotary Třebíč). After the tournament we spent wonderfull evening having a dinner in restaurant "U královny Elišky", during which the winner of the tournament was declared. The profits from the championship will be devoted to a chosen fosterer family.

Music and dance performance for seniors

In December we have the annual music and dance performance for seniors in several retirement homes in Brno. Children from a primary art school in Brno-Pozorice will perform there and each guest will receive little Christmas present at the end of the performance.

1st "Eyes of Music" Concert (2005)

Another project we have organized together with the TyfloCentrum Brno was a concert of classical music called Eyes of Music. The concert was held in Old Town Hall of Brno on 16th November 2005.

Sightless People Behind Steering Wheel (2005)

We regularly cooperate with the TyfloCentre in Brno, an organization that works with sightless people. On 19th October 2005 took our Rotaract Club part in a project called Sightless People Behind Steering Wheel. The goal was to give sightless people the opportunity to drive a car with the help of driving instructors at the Masaryk circuit in Brno.

District Project

In the beginning of March we will be also taking part in a district and European project to organize a big Rotaract European party. The idea is that each Rotaract club in Europe should arrange a party in its own city, at one exact day and hour. This party should dispense Rotary thoughts.
